The Choice Light Weight Corrosion and Abrasion Protection
In industrial environments facing both abrasive and corrosive materials, unlined stainless elbows may wear out in just a few weeks, generating a costly cycle of downtime for frequent repairs and re-placements. The Reparex solution to this common wear problem are our Feather Lite Flow Pro-Tech Fiberglass Liners, a flexible system that offers, easy installation into existing equipment, exceptionally long service life, low-cost fabrication, wear and corrosion resistant materials specified for your environment.
Reparex has developed Feather Lite Flow Pro-Tech Liners specifically for applications needing both corrosion and abrasion resistance. By engineering high alumina or silicon carbide into fiberglass fabrications, we are able to produce a product with excellent mechanical properties, superior wear resistance, and excellent corrosion performance. Additionally, these fabrications are much more light weight and less costly than traditional steel fabrications. Even in the most severe operating environments our Feather Lite Flow Pro-Tech Liners have lasted five to ten times longer than steel. Feather Lite Flow Pro-Tech Liners are frequently specified in plants with corrosions problems where small diameter pipe and long, sweeping elbows pneumatically con¬vey abrasive materials such, ores, chemical feedstocks, glass batch, sand, and coal.
Easy Integration Into Your System
Feather Lite Flow Pro-Tech Fiberglass Liners are designed with the same internal diameter as your unlined existing pipe. A minimum lining thickness of 1/4 inch is required, but a heavier 1 inch wall can be specified for optimum wear life. The cylinders for the lining can be made from various grades of high alumina and silicon carbide ceramics that best address your operating environment. Our Feather Lite Flow Pro-Tech Liners are segmented cylinders encapsulated in a structural fiberglass fabrication with resin specially formulated for your operational environment. Without a steel shell our fabrication is much lighter, and with a large spectrum of resins available to prevent chemical attack, our Feather Lite solutions make abrasion and corrosion resistance not only light weight but easy.
Segmented Construction Offers Design Flexibility
The Reparex recommended design for elbow liners is called segmented construction because each section of the liner is a straight tube, rather than a curved piece. Reparex Feather Lite Flow Pro-Tech Liners are available in diameters up to 20 inches with virtually any degree of bend and center line radius. This construction reduces turbulence in your material flow and thereby reduces wear.
Wearback Fittings
Designed to eliminate unwanted costs such as maintenance, loss of material, and downtime, the "Wearback" elbow replaces the conventional elbow and is manufactured to remain on a system much longer, thus reducing costs and raising production. The "Wearback" elbow has a jacket across the back of the core elbow which is approximately 1/2" of ceramic compound. This compound has a Mohs hardness of 9+, second only to diamond, which has a Mohs hardness of 10. The ceramic jacket and core elbow is then wrapped with fiberglass to maintain hoop strength. Once the core elbow has worn through, the abrasion is then transferred to the ceramic outer jacket.
